Don't Make Me Think
Chapter 1.

This chapter compares self-evident webpages to good lighting in a room. Steve Krug explains the importance of self evidence. A good website or application will give people an experience of not thinking. Most people don't really look at the design but more at the usability. There are certain buttons that are supposed to belong in a certain place. Our heads read it as common sense. We don't want people to question the way the designer has formatted a site because it will start to become frustrating for the user and then the user will eventually get tired and leave.
Flow -

Application 1 : SHAZAM

This is an enjoyable app I use to search music. 

All you need to do is press on the gigantic Shazam button and it will start recording the background music. It automatically will find the song and users won't need to do anything else. 

One button on the top left for 'My Shazam' and one button on the right for 'Discover'. Straightforward and reasonable names.

Instead of pressing on those buttons you can also just swipe left or swipe right. Nothing else. Very simple to use.

Application 2 : SWEATCOIN

This is one of the more frustrating apps that I use. I don't like using frustrating apps, however, I use this for running and gaining points for it as a motivation to stay active. The reason why it is so frustrating is the weird buttons and placement. It doesn't have what Krug taught in his book, Don't Make Me Think. In fact, it makes me think a lot. The only buttons in words are saving and info and those are the things I don't really care about. Where is my account and progression? Where is my reward center? What is the steps to sweatcoin currency conversion? Why is there a layout of mountains when I am in the city? Why is the biggest button to get 5 sweatcoins? It doesn't say anything else besides "5 Sweatcoins GET NOW". It shows up INVITE, CONTACTS, FACEBOOK. While inviting your friends to this app is important, this should not be the biggest button in the app.
